How Good Is Memopryl? A 7-Point Scorecard From the Facts

This is not a score out of ten, and we will not invent one. A number would suggest a precision that the facts do not have. The grades tell you where to look and what to ask.

1. Label transparency: Missing. The bottle front says MemoPryl, By NutraVibe, Advanced Formula and 60 Capsules, with three claims. The Supplement Facts panel, the serving size and the amount of each ingredient were not in the files we received. They sit on your bottle. U.S. rules say a panel must show a serving size and the amount of each ingredient, or the total weight of a blend.

2. Ingredient evidence: Mixed. Bacopa has the clearest result. In one trial, 46 healthy adults took 300 mg a day for 12 weeks, and learning and memory scores improved against placebo. The big ginkgo trial found no dementia benefit, and the Cochrane review of acetyl-L-carnitine found no clear case for routine use. St. John's wort was studied for mood, and glutamine showed no change in a single 2 g dose study.

3. Finished-product trial: Missing. Nobody has published a trial of the finished capsule. Because the amounts are not published, the doses cannot be matched to the studies either.

4. Safety information: Mixed. The cautions are clear and the site states them plainly. The strength of the issue is the problem. St. John's wort can weaken birth control pills, warfarin, some antidepressants, and heart, HIV, transplant, cancer and seizure drugs. With serotonin drugs it can cause serotonin syndrome. Ginkgo may raise bleeding risk. It is not for anyone under 18, and pregnant or nursing women should ask a doctor first.

5. Seller clarity: Clear. Gomemopryl names itself as the authorized U.S. retailer, says it is not the maker and says it earns money from purchases. Checkout runs through BuyGoods, and the order desk is +1 (302) 200-3480. The maker details on the back label are not in our files, and the lab certificate is not published, only a lot reference.

6. Guarantee: Clear. You have 60 days from purchase. You claim by phone, post the bottles tracked at your cost, and receive the refund 3 to 5 business days after the return is credited. No reason is needed. The guarantee is a purchase policy and promises no result.

7. Reviews: Mixed. The retailer supplied 4.8 of 5 from 1,397 written reviews, 6,330 orders and 89% who recommend. Those figures are not independently verified. Buyers liked the daily capsule and the 60-day window. They disliked a slow start and wanted more in week one. Some quotes repeat word for word, which is one reason we do not treat them as independent.

Read the number as a claim by the seller. A rating from the people selling the product tells you less than an outside source would.

Weigh the grades by your own needs.

• If you must see every ingredient amount before you buy, points 1 and 3 weigh heavily, and you may prefer to wait.
• If you take any medicine, point 4 comes first. Show the ingredient list to a pharmacist.
• If you are comfortable with a daily trial and a refund route, points 5 and 6 are in your favor.
• If you mostly trust a star rating, remember point 7.

Our view: asked how good is memopryl, we say it is a well-explained seller with a clear refund route and a label we cannot fully read. The evidence for the product is mixed, and the biggest practical issue is medicine safety.
